Just days before the festival small grays were popping up here and there.
Thanks to our local American Legion veterans our day gets started with a salute to America.
Thanks to our veterans for all you have done and still do to help us keep our freedoms.
Registration hit record numbers this year as the old masters signed up for the Great Mushroom Hunt along with many hunters new to the contest.
Ron Kane and Judy Evers shared the spotlight this year for our programs.
Ron Kane, from the Jackson area, works magic with his chainsaw to create beautiful works of art and peeks the interest of all ages.
Judy Evers, from the Reading area, intrigued the crowd with her "time travels" into the early American history. Her lessons in the secret codes of the quilters during the slavery era and the bravery of two women who stepped outside the traditional roles of the time left us awestruck at their bravery and the difficult circumstances they lived through.
The day was filled with reminiscing to raising money and sharing information to creating something for Mom for Mother's Day. Something fun was happening at every corner of the green!
Even in tough times. our local sponsors give their support for a great festival! The Osseo Heritage Day and Great Mushroom Hunt is a success because of their generosity. Be sure to check the sponsor's page on our site and support them in the same way!
Our goal is to create a fun event for family and friends to enjoy and get into the great outdoors for a day of friendly competition.
